Micro-robots to travel inside the body

The idea of travel inside the human body and treatment of complex diseases in this way, put forward by science fiction writers in the 50-60-ies of the last century, may soon become a reality. So researchers at the Max Planck Institute are developing micro-robots that can move freely through the blood vessels, delivering drugs into the body, or making any transactions.

So that they can move within the blood or plasma at a micro level, where the traditional laws of mechanics do not work, scientists have equipped special robot actuators based ferromagnets. Under the influence of an external magnetic field is opened and closed shell scallops robots. If this procedure is done very often (at a sufficiently high speed), the microrobot can move freely in the blood.

Through the use of innovative microdrive scientists were able to reduce the size of robots to 800 microns. This will allow them to move even in very thin vessels, that is run almost the entire circulatory system of the human organism. No and that's not all innovations.

Researchers from the Max Planck Institute managed to improve the technology of producing new robots so that they became possible to print the 3D-printer. The truth is not home, and a special science.
