In Minsk, presented new rotorcraft UAV

Belarusian company INDELA launched into serial production upgraded version of its unmanned helicopter complex INSKY. This is the general designer of the company Vladimir Eccentrics during passing now in Minsk exhibition of arms and military equipment MILEX 2014.

As the developers, multipurpose helicopter type UAV can perform military tasks on par with civilians. Lightweight and compact helicopter with a payload weighs no more than 125 pounds. Its range is 100 kilometers and the duration of the flight is five hours. INSKY can maintain a constant speed at a height of up to a mile, but a short time able to rise twice. These are the maximum figures - Apparatus of this type usually operate at lower altitudes.

The main tasks that the UAV is capable of performing - exploration and patrols. Fitted with a range of airborne surveillance and monitoring systems, INSKY scans the terrain in the visible and thermal bands and transmits real-time information to the ground control station.

In the world there are few analogues Belarusian helicopter-drone, stressed in an interview with "Russian planet" Russian expert in the field of unmanned systems Fedutinov Denis, who attended the presentation INSKY.

"In the segment of helicopter UAVs exists relative shortage of proposals. This is due to greater technical complexity of creating such machines than when working on unmanned aircraft of similar size. Financial expenses for the establishment of helicopter systems, as above, "- said the expert.

Fedutinov listed several systems comparable with the Belarusian INSKY: «In particular, Camcopter S100 of the Austrian company Schiebel, R-MAX Japanese company Yamaha, produced in Sweden 55 of Apid CybAero and Skeldar concern SAAB».

According to the specialist, light and small rotary-wing UAVs for military interest, primarily as a scout. "As far as payload, it will not be significant, even in the case of solutions sets of issues related to the integration of various systems with INSKY. Abroad similar experience associated with equipment Camcopter S100 ultra-light guided missiles LMM - but, apparently, this practice is not widespread, "- he said.

Fedutinov noted that is especially important application of UAV helicopter in the fleet from aboard small ships. This confirms the experience of foreign naval forces - in early June in Brazil ended successfully tested Camcopter S100. Brazilian military wants to order ten UAVs of this type to patrol the maritime borders. Simultaneously with the Brazilians on board car helicopter landing ship dock "San Giusto" tested by the Italians.

Belarusians of INDELA reported their helicopter deliveries to foreign customers complexes. Customer names and other details of the contracts they do not specify. "Our core business is the development of UAV systems and turnkey confidential" - the site says INDELA.

Belarusian company exists since 1996 and is known as the developer of robotic systems and unmanned aerial targets used during the test anti-aircraft missiles. One of the areas of its activity - "innovative design, built on neural networks, UAV control systems, navigation systems and decision-making." Apparently, Belarusians working on autonomous UAVs ability to make decisions without the participation of the ground operator.
