Scientists have synthesized the 117th element of the periodic table

German physicists were able to synthesize the 117th element of the periodic table , reports New Scientist.

This element was discovered in 2009 at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research ( Dubna) and has previously been synthesized by researchers from Russia and the United States .

Originally from Germany physics intended to synthesize the 119th element of the table , but all attempts were unsuccessful and it was decided to get the 117th chemical element .

In this paper, the scientists pushed calcium atoms ( with charge number 20) and Berkeley ( the number of protons - 97) , and in the end they got a 4 atom with charge number equal to 117. Existed these atoms less than 0.1 seconds , and then split into lighter elements .

Now scientists are going to officially add a new element in the periodic table .
